Spirit Mountain

Spirit Mountain is an outdoor adventure spot in Duluth, Minnesota, situated on the southern tip of Saint Louis Bay, which is home to skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, zip-lining, and an excellent collection of challenges for thrill-seekers of all ages. The peak of the ski hill, named after the S.S. William A. Irvin that was a regular visitor to Duluth, is 700 ft above Lake Superior, making it the third-highest point on the Minnesota North Shore.

The mountain caters to winter vacationers with 22 ski runs including beginner, intermediate, and expert slopes, about 175 acres of terrain, an average snowfall of 100 inches, and a vertical drop of more than 700 ft. The trails range in difficulty from novice to advanced, with an 11-acre terrain park specially designed for snowboards with rails, jumps, and half-pipes.

Spirit Mountain features a 9-mile network of mountain biking trails in the summer and early fall until the start of the winter. These trails are also used for winter fat tire biking in snowy conditions. The mountain has panoramic views of the city and Lake Superior region, which the chairlifts cover. A charming chalet provides dining and resting services for visitors and has an indoor ticketing and rental facility. Other activities include zip line tours, a mini-golf course, disc golf, and a kid's adventure park.
