Parthenon

The Parthenon is an ancient temple located on the Acropolis hill in Athens, Greece, and is considered one of the greatest cultural achievements of the ancient Greek civilization. Built between 447 and 432 BCE, the Parthenon was dedicated to the goddess Athena, who was the patron of Athens. It is an iconic symbol of ancient Greece and is renowned for its impressive architecture and stunning sculptures, including the frieze that depicts the Panathenaic procession. The temple was damaged during its long history, including by earthquakes, fires, and wars. However, restoration efforts have preserved much of its original grandeur.
