Les Halles (Paris Métro)

Les Halles (Paris Métro) is a metro station named after a bustling indoor shopping mall in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France. Originally, the site was home to the city's central food market, which was established in the 12th century and operated for nearly 800 years. In the 1970s, the market was demolished, and the Les Halles complex was built in its place, incorporating both underground and above-ground spaces.

Today, Les Halles is not only a convenient station connected to the massive RER and métro transit hub of Châtelet–Les Halles but a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a wide range of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The mall near the station features over 150 stores, including international brands and French designers, as well as a cinema and a swimming pool. Additionally, the surrounding neighborhood is home to several iconic Parisian landmarks, such as the Pompidou Center and the Saint-Eustache church.
