Gare de Grenoble

Gare de Grenoble

Gare de Grenoble is the main railway station in Grenoble, located in the southeast of France. The station is a hub for regional trains as well as for the high-speed TGV train, connecting Grenoble to several major cities in France such as Paris, Marseille, and Lyon. There are also international trains reaching Milan and Torino. The history of this station dates back to 1849, when the first railway line between Grenoble and Lyon was established. Since then, the station has undergone several renovations and expansions to meet the growing demand of passengers. The current building was created in the early 1970s, featuring a modern design with a large glass façade.

If you have some time to spare before your train, there are a few shops and cafes available in the station. You can grab a coffee or snack at one of the cafes, or browse through the bookshop for some reading material for your journey. One interesting fact about Gare de Grenoble is that it was famously used as a filming location for one of the scenes in the 1963 James Bond movie, "From Russia with Love". In the film, Bond arrives at the station and has a rendezvous with a Russian agent before boarding a train to Venice.
